Privacy notice

This notice explains how personal data is handled for anyone who visits this website, asks for information or books a stay. It is given under articles 13 and 14 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR).

Who processes your data

What we collect

• When you book: first name, surname, email address, phone number, country, stay dates, number of adults and children, and anything you write in the notes.
• When you arrive: the identity document details of every guest, including minors, as the law requires.
• When you use the contact form: only what you write.

We do not collect special categories of data — health, opinions, beliefs — and we ask you not to write any in the notes.

Why we process it, and on what legal basis

1. To manage the booking and the stay: answering your request, holding the dates, issuing the receipt, contacting you before arrival. Legal basis: performance of the contract and pre-contractual steps (art. 6.1.b GDPR). Without this data we cannot take a booking.
2. To report guests to the Police: we are required to transmit the details of everyone who stays overnight within 24 hours, under article 109 of the Italian Consolidated Law on Public Security. Legal basis: legal obligation (art. 6.1.c GDPR). This is not our choice and cannot be declined while staying.
3. For tax and accounting duties and, where due, the tourist tax. Legal basis: legal obligation (art. 6.1.c GDPR).
4. To defend or exercise a right in the event of a dispute or damage. Legal basis: legitimate interest (art. 6.1.f GDPR).

What we do not do

• No profiling and no advertising.
• No behavioural profile built from your visits.
• Your data is never sold or shared for someone else's purposes.
• No automated decision-making about you.

Who may receive the data

• The Police, through the Alloggiati Web portal, for the obligation described above.
• The municipality, where the tourist tax applies.
• The accountant who keeps our books.
• The bank or payment service provider, to collect payment.
• The booking portal (for example Booking.com), when the booking comes from there.
• Whoever provides technical assistance to the website, only for the duration of the work.

Each of them acts either as an independent controller or as a processor appointed in writing.

Where the data is kept

The website and the management system are hosted on servers in Italy. The providers who may receive data are established in the European Economic Area. No transfer to third countries is envisaged; should one become necessary, this notice will be updated beforehand.

How long we keep it

• Booking data: for the stay and then for ten years, the retention period for accounting and tax records.
• Identity document details: for as long as needed to transmit them and to prove the transmission.
• Contact-form messages that do not become a booking: deleted within twelve months.

Your rights

At any time you may ask to:

• access your data and know what we process;
• correct it, if it is wrong or incomplete;
• erase it, where no obligation requires us to keep it;
• restrict its processing;
• receive it in a machine-readable format;
• object to processing based on legitimate interest.

Send the request to info@guesthouselacorte.com and you will get an answer within one month. Some data cannot be erased on request while the legal obligation to keep it is still running.

How to complain

If you believe the processing breaches the Regulation you may complain to the Italian Data Protection Authority — Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (Piazza Venezia 11, 00187 Rome — garanteprivacy.it) — or go to court.
